| CASE STUDY - 3663 |
 |
3663 is a leading foodservice wholesaler distributor and supply partner, offering complete catering solutions to over 60,000 customers of all sizes and capabilities across the UK.
The company is highly committed to continually improving the environmental performance of its products and services and to minimising the impact of its operations on the environment.
As part of their wider sustainability agenda, the company has worked with Convert2Green over a number of years, to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption and to increase use of energy from renewable sources.
At the heart of the initiative, Convert2Green has worked with 3663 and vehicle manufacturer, Scania, to establish the most efficient bio-diesel mix for the 3663 delivery fleet. Over 70% of the fleet is now powered by B30 bio-diesel (a mixture of standard diesel and bio-diesel). A key ingredient of the bio-diesel is waste cooking oil, collected from 3663 customers by Convert2Green.
Convert2Green has now supplied over 10 million litres of biodiesel to 3663 over four years, which has saved the equivalent of over 27,000 MT (metric tonnes) of CO2 compared with mineral diesel.
Convert2Green works in close partnership with 3663 in the identification of waste oil supply and collection from 3663’s customers and suppliers and in researching other ways of carbon saving in their property estate. |
